We present a play composed of monologues written based on actual interviews with people living in this town and across BC.
You will learn about the origins of outdated idioms and sayings that are accepted socially, but really shouldn’t be.
We invite you in to experience through the eyes of real people what it means to live with casual racism and why we need to stop it.
What is casual racism? Casual racism refers to behaviour involving prejudices or negative stereotypes about people on the basis of race, colour or ethnicity. It is an insidious form of racism that tends to fly under the radar and is often ignored or down played. Examples of casual racism include; excluding people from employment or social situations, mockery, derision, and off handed dismissive comments.
Please take the time to help us shine light on something that has lived in the shadows too long.
Come see the show at the Capitol Theatre 4904 Argyle Street, Port Alberni BC.
“Divided We Fall” stars Amira Strain, Brittany Johnson, Darlene Leonew, Kendra Neary, Louise Martin, and Irene Robinson; all local actors, and is directed by Teresa Drew and Naomi Boutwell
