Benefit Concert for Lenard Lapointe
I am writing in regards of to a benefit concert that I am holding for my father, Lenard Lapointe. 4 months ago, my dad was diagnosed with a rare brain disease called Progressive Supra-nuclear Pulsay (PSP). It turns out that there is no cure for this disease and he has literally months to live.
My father is a well respected citizen of Port Alberni. He had a Vacuum business (Value Vacuum) in the valley for over 25 years. He also was a well established musician and taught me how to play and manage my own bands.
We are having the benefit because his house is in foreclosure and because of long waiting lists in care facilities, he is going to be in dire straits with high medical costs and no solid living arrangments. He eventually will need complex care so our family is trying hard to take care of him for now, but it is proving quite hard. I have had to quit my job just to take care of him and my two sisters are trying to juggle their schedules as well.
I have Glenwood Center booked for May 26th and I was hoping that The Kinsmen would help us out by serving drinks at the bar. I am also looking for security but I am waiting to hear from The Black Sheep. As well, we are just looking for volunteers to help clean up and such. We are praying that you can help us in these dark times. I thank You for your time.
