The Port Authority offers its sincere gratitude to its partners at Parks & Recreation, the Alberni Valley Bulldogs, PAFD and, of course, everyone in the community who came down to the Harbour Quay breakwater to meet and greet some of your AVB players and enjoy the floating street hockey game. Literacy Alberni is having a penny drive. The Canadian Government is getting rid of the penny. Please bring in your pennies for Literacy Alberni. We will be accepting penny donations from now until the end of September, as out goal is to build a penny roll tower. The penny donations will be going towards Raising-A-Reader. Penny Donations can be dropped off at 5100 E Tebo Street from 9am to 3pm. Thank you!

Volunteer’s month ends on Monday 30th, but we do not believe in dates. Volunteering is a way of life in the community. That is one thing that is right in Port Alberni. I know the economy and health are very important,but the Bible tells us. Faith, hope and love, but the greatest of these is Love. That is one of the reasons why I have stayed in this place, and will continue to stay until I die!
