And We Have a Winner!

The Alberni Valley Chamber of Commerce would like to congratulate Sean Stevens as the winner of our Shop Alberni monthly draw. For participating in the shop local campaign, Sean wins a $25.00 gift certificate provided by the Animal Ark on Third Avenue. And that’s a good thing since Sean is a pet fish enthusiast. Each month we will draw from a list of registered shoppers for $25.00 gift certificates from our participating merchants. We now have over a thousand cards in circulation, which means a lot of Port Alberni shoppers are taking advantage of a lot of great bargains. The more merchants the better is this type of promotion, so if you have a local business and want to increase your traffic and keep those Port Alberni dollars in town, give us a call and we’ll include you in the promotion. Shoppers looking to identify which businesses are taking part, can click on the Shop Alberni logo on our website (avcoc.com) or look for our Shop Alberni logos on display in store windows. The campaign goes until Dec.31/12.
On Sept.12th the chamber will feature Stockwell Day as our guest speaker during our networking luncheon at Chances Rimrock Gaming Centre. He will be talking about Canadian politics and his specialty, trade relations with Asia and India. This will be a popular luncheon, so book your seat today by calling our office, 724 6535.
Just a reminder that the chamber will be judging beards and bonnets for nice prizes at the Homecoming celebration, Bob Dailey Stadium, Sunday Aug.5th. Grow your beards and build your bonnets, register under the chamber’s tent on the day of the contest – and good luck!
We never expected the response we are getting to the Danube river cruise in Sept. of 2013. By the looks of it, there will be quite the jolly Port Alberni contingent floating from Budapest to Amsterdam. Want to come along? Call Twin Travel for the details, 724 6501.
