New Signage at the Visitor Centre

The Alberni Valley Chamber of Commerce is planning a new way-finding sign for our Visitor Centre. It will feature a road map of the town and our attractions. This will prove handy for travellers that stop by after hours and need some direction to their destination. The large wooden sign will have advertising opportunities available around the perimeter. Twelve changeable 12 inch by 24 inch promotional signs are being rented by the year to local businesses and attractions to pay for the design and construction. If you are looking to increase your exposure at the Visitor Centre, call our office and we will make a deal.
Shop Alberni 2013 is looking for participating merchants to take part in this year’s campaign. Businesses that are concerned with retail leakage over the hump should definitely take part in this promotion, as it offers shoppers special discounts for purchasing locally. The cost to the business is $50 for the year plus two $10 gift certificates. The $50.00 covers advertising and printing costs. The gift certificates will be handed out to local front line workers who deal with the travelling public. The idea is to get our front line workers more familiar with your product and services. To register, just call the office.
The biggest bash of the year is scheduled February 28th at the Barclay Hotel. It’s the first annual Bulldogs Dinner and Auction. Organizers will soon be announcing the list of celebrities that will be gracing our fine city and there is an impressive list of auction items, both silent and live. The supper will be outstanding and it’s a great opportunity to have a fancy night out while supporting our local junior hockey franchise. Tickets are going fast (a table at a time) so if you want to be there, you can purchase dinner/auction tickets at the Royal Bank, the Barclay or the Bulldogs office.
What will a 13.7% residential tax increase buy you? Come and find out as the chamber features City Manager, Ken Watson, at our February 13th Networking Luncheon. Ken will be explaining the proposed residential, business and industrial tax rates.
