Nicole Monroe to Speak at Food & Filosophy

Thanks for the great number that attended our last meeting where we presented the Mayoral candidates of our community. The meeting was well attended and we thank all for the wonderful behaviour that was displayed. It is my hope that we can now work together and make Port Alberni the most co-operative council in this Province.
We are now inviting you to listen to Nicole Monroe, who is the Administrator –Registry Operation for the Port Alberni Law Courts. She will be coming to give us a lot of information about this important place in Port Alberni. This Food and Filosophy will take place on Monday, December 1st at Dolce Vita. We begin at 5:30. Here is the information that she has asked me to share with you all.
Our Court House is an integrated court location, which means that we have two levels of court held here. They are Provincial Court and Supreme Court. Our court location is open to the public Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m to 4:30 p.m except on statutory holidays. Our law library is located on the second floor of the building, and it is open to the public every Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 4 p.m.
We are looking forward to hear Nicole give us more information about this important building in this community. I hope that we all will take the opportunity of finding out more about the workings of the Court System in Port Alberni. I thank one of the members of our group for approaching Nicole on our behalf. You are a member of this group, and we will be happy to listen to your advice in getting speakers for Food and Filosophy.
In British Columbia most court cases are heard in the Provincial Court. This is a very busy court. The Supreme Court of British Columbia is the Province’s superior trial court.
Our court registry is open to the public. Our registry clerks are happy to assist with any enquiries at the counter regarding court policy and procedures. There is also a law library, located on the second floor of the building. statutory holidays. All of our courtrooms are opened for the public
