FOOD AND FILOSOPHY.
We begin our new year on Monday 14th September at 6 p.m. The place. Dolce Vita. I asked to have the first topic for this New Year. HOW CAN WE MAKE PORT ALBERNI THE CITY OF LOVE? I thank you for allowing me to be a dreamer in your midst, but there is more than just dreaming that is at stake this year. I have crossed the three scores and ten, and more and more I question what is most important in life? I know that there are many of you who also contemplate this question.
You and I have heard songs about Love. What the world needs now is Love. We have heard St. Paul saying: "Faith, hope and Love and the greatest of these is Love. I love this community very much, and I would like us to strive for the greatest. Love. When I think of many movements of society, I see that they started with just a few committed people. Is it possible to start this dream with five or six, or even one? I am talking to YOU at this moment. You have seen people set goals to sail around the world. This goal could be done here and now by young and old alike. Come and join us at Dolce Vita on September 14th at 6 p.m. We will look back on this date when a few brothers and sisters dare to make Love as the hallmark of their community.
I thank you in advance. I ask that you were red on this evening. That is our symbol of love. I am asking all the citizens of Positive Port to wear red on Wednesdays! Now, here is a WONDER OF WONDERS..A CITY OF LOVERS! Imagine marketing this city..Come and experience A CITY OF LOVE!!! I LIKE THIS MANTRA: I WILL LIVE THIS DAY AS IF IT WERE MY LAST! One of these days is going to be our last, but I hope before I leave this place, I would see without doubt, a city of Love! I am cheating from Blake: I shall not rest from mental fight, nor shall the sword sleep in my hand, until we have built A City of Love in Port Alberni, this pleasant land!
October 5th: TOPIC..HAPPINESS! Who are the happy people in Port Alberni? What makes us happy? Can you choose happiness of are you born happy? Is there any connection with Happiness and the City of Love?
November 2nd: RULES FOR BEING HUMAN. What distinguishes us from animals? Are we human doings or human beings?
December 7th: BIG POSITIVE CHANGES AHEAD!!! This speaker sees great things ahead for us humans. I remember Winston Churchill saying: The empires of the future will be the empires of the mind. We are enjoying such empires? Is modern technology ushering in a happier and loving world?
We know that you like to come prepared for these discussions, so we have shared the first four topics with you. If you have a topic, do bring it up with the other members of this group. We are good listeners!
It is my hope that this group does not stop with contemplation. We also need ACTION!..BE LOVING! BE HAPPY! BE FULLY HUMAN!! BE THE POSITIVE CHANGE THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE IN OUR SOCIETY!
