Treasure Hunt Punch Cards Now Available

The first annual Alberni Valley Chamber of Commerce “Treasure Hunt” is off and running! The first 100 treasure seekers to register pick up their punch cards and pay the $35.00 entry fee will get to take part. For your $35.00 fee you will enjoy a great supper at the McLean Mill National Historic Site complete with live and silent auction fun. And, for visiting our 16 participating merchants on that day you will receive a free gift and/or sample from each shop. So, that’s 16 gifts and a fine dinner…all for $35.00. The punch cards are ready to be purchased at the Visitor Centre now. Treasure maps will follow when we’ve chosen the 16 merchants. The date for the Treasure Hunt is Saturday, Sept. 29th. The hunt will take place from 1 – 5pm with dinner at the mill at 6pm – but it is limited to only 100 treasure seekers and its adults only. Proceeds from the event will go towards repatriating the carved cedar focal point sign at the Visitor Centre.
There are two more lucky winners in our Shop Alberni monthly draws. The July winner was Bonita Brown and she wins a $25.00 gift certificate from Jenny’s Fine Foods and Eclectica in the Carmoor building. The August winner is Margot McNally. Margot picks up a $25.00 gift certificate to Mark’s Work Warehouse. Congratulations to both, and remember to shop for monthly specials from merchants who display the “Shop Alberni” posters. A list of the shops and their specials is easily accessed by going to our webpage (avcoc.com) and clicking on the Shop Alberni webpage.
Our guest speaker at the Wednesday, Sept.12th Networking Luncheon will be none other than former cabinet minister, Stockwell Day. The luncheon takes place at Chances Rimrock Gaming Centre at noon on that Wednesday. Reserve your seat or table by calling the office at 724 6535.
