Sat, Apr 1st, 8-10pm, Dance – Another Char’s Landing House Call for Doctor Bones - Gospel infused blues, rock & funk
Doctor Bones is a six-member blues fusion band from Greater Victoria. They’re high energy, with multiple vocalists, and backed by solid harmonica, keyboard, electric and acoustic guitar, bass and drums.
The band plays a wide range of gospel-infused contemporary and traditional blues, rock, funk and Americana music, with an emphasis on vocal harmonies and harmonica. Their uplifting musical vibe is great for dancing as well as easy listening. Musical sets include renditions of traditional blues and songs from Keb Mo’, Tom Waits, Eric Bibb, Mavis Staples, Stevie Wonder, and Bob Dylan.
The Project brings its music regularly to fairs, festivals, fundraisers, bars, as well as prisons and social service agencies on the Island and the Lower Mainland. These have included Providence Farm, the Saanich Fair, Ladysmith Concerts in the Park, and the Gospel Blues Festival in Chilliwack. Band members are Gail Bones (vocals, percussion), John Bones (harp, vocals), David Nicol (keys, vocals), Anthony Reynolds (bass, vocals), Jack Funk (drums) and Glenn Burrell (acoustic, slide and electric guitar).
