If you can't then what you are saying is senseless gossip (in the least) or outright slander.

KP, I have lived here all my life as well as my family dating back to the late 1800s...........something I have noticed is that it is not always what you know, it may very well be whom you know and being a small town, all it takes is someone in the position of being an acquaintance of whomever whom may not like you or something from your past or your family's past and it may very well render you to being an outcast of the somewhat invisible group, but well felt presence of the term old boys club. Although they may be polite to your face, they could very well be part of your demise through opinion assassinations that you can not make liable, but can certainly show up when trying to get employment or other opportunities. While my parents were both alive, the connection was very different than now, for me that is........or perhaps I just did not see this. I do know that I have spoken to many people whom moved here to find those same feelings and many were surprised that I too would feel this. Sometimes it is not always a city with hearts, some of that just depends on your connections. If you ever watched the movie First Kiss with Drew Barrymore, whom was a nerd in school, ridiculed, etc........and her own brother was part of her demise and also later on part of her popularity by sharing with ones whom saw her as a fool be convinced she was cool. It was then she was able to fully blossom to the person she actually was whom was kind, smart, loving.....anyhow. I hope this explains my opinion a little on the subject of old boyz clubs........and perhaps the success and failures in the local economy. JMO
