Tue, May 2nd 7-9pm, Concert – Running Red Lights Chasing La Luna w/Bywater Band – Toronto Indie Folk/R&B/Pop

“Born into a space between the notes of Fleetwood mac and the words of Sylvia Plath”

Their assemblage numbers four. They call themselves Running Red Lights, though in 10 years they have yet to live up to the rebelliousness the name requires. There are approximately 5 genres/sub genres of music that might, in one way or another, characterize their sound, but for the sake of definition, Indie Folk will do as a fair classification. Beneath the rustic resonance of their music flows a gracious undercurrent of rock and roll, blues and pop. Their music is lyrical, melodic, story-oriented and personal. They have numerous accolades to their credit including the 2009 independent release of their first self-titled EP in collaboration with Juno winning producer Gavin Brown (Billy Talent/Metric/Midway State). On New Years Eve 2010 as winners of the YouDiscover Concert Series RRL made their national television performance debut on ET Canada to a viewership of 2 million in the company of Canadian Icons Barenaked Ladies, Great Big Sea and Kardinal Official.

In 2011 in collaboration with
Orange Lounge Records RRL released their second EP 'Life Below the Red' and in June of the
same year entered and won the Kensington Sound Annual Songwriting contest. Running Red
Lights has performed in concert with Canadian rockers The Trews and Grammy winners The
Counting Crows and have been featured in top clubs and Festivals in Canada including Canadian
Music Festival, North by North East, Juno Festival and Sarnia Bay Fest. Running Red Lights
debut album 'There's a Bluebird in My Heart' released January 2014 to a sweep of praise
from music journalist and bloggers from all over the world. The album was added and featured on
CBC and BBC Radio. The leading single 'Mulberry Love' was named #1 Song of 2014 via NY
Blog Given and Taken in Ink and the popularity of the song allowed the band an appearance on
the nationally televised Canada Am. As career artists they have toured all over Canada into
America, across the sea to Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales. They’ve performed on trains,
boats, on small and large stages, to an audience of none to audiences of several thousand.

'Running Red Lights has such a genuine aura about them and you can tell these guys are in it
for the love of music and nothing else. The way they perform as a group and interact with the
crowd is unlike any other band out there' -KATIE WORNDL~ INDIE CURRENT

'Running Red Lights showed last night that they are the complete package: They have the
songwriting talent, instrumental proficiency, showmanship, passion and wide appeal to make a
really big splash with their upcoming album. Expect big things from these guys' -URI
EDUARDO~TORONTO RHAPCITY (CMW Concert Review)

'Few Songs have captured my attention as quickly and forcefully as Mulberry Love. Since it
arrived in my inbox yesterday I have not listened to another song. Honestly, I don't actually
know when that might happen again....' -Given and Taken in Ink
